Tallamy speaks at Crosby, Pastorek Habitats/Cajun Prairie Folks recognized by the Gov!

Dr, Doug Tallamy, University of Delaware, will present the lecture, Bringing Nature Home, at the Crosby Library in Picayune, Mississippi, on March 15, during a program hosted by the Crosby Arboretum, Mississippi State University.

Dr. Tallamy is a messenger with a good message: how to be a better steward of your land, and why. I have heard him speak three times. Each time, I have walked away in awe of his grasp of this very important topic. If you haven’t heard this talk, try to go. You’ll likely enjoy it. see the link below for more info.

Pastorek Habitats, LLC has been named Business Conservationist of the Year for 2013 in the Annual Governor’s Conservation Achievement Recognition Program conducted by the Louisiana Wildlife Federation. The award will be presented at a banquet to be held on Saturday, March 29th at the Lake House Reception Center in Baton Rouge. GO TEAM!

The Cajun Prairie Habitat Preservation Society has been named Organization Conservationist of the Year for 2013. The Cajun Prairie Society has done some wonderful conservation work over the last 25 years. Without the Cajun Prairie Society, it is very unlikely that Pastorek Habitats would be receiving the Biz Conservation Award. Thanks Charles and Susan Allen and Malcolm and Gail Vidrine and all my prairie and botany buds for all their help and encouragement over the years. And many thanks to my wife, partner, and bestest friend, Candi Pastorek, for building the biz into a real business!

how about all of dat, ya’ll…. 🙂
